Sometimes, something precious is rescued at the last minute by a sudden burst of wisdom, beauty and love, and a realization that it is too valuable to throw away.
Quick And Painless Love
This love came and went Flattering, mattering Splattering on the pavement Like rain
This love came quickly Speeding, pleading Beating in the chest Like pain
This love jumped blindly Eyes closing, mind posing Frozen questions Hanging in the air
This love stung deeply Injection, infection Rejection of Pain lingering there
This love smelled sweetly Feelings sent reeling Appealing to Both you and I
This love nearly ceased Spirits dented, unfriended Blended lives Leaving us asking why
This love was rescued Planted in sunlight Fires in twilight Smoke rising Each feeling surprising Delighted Sparks ignited Leading us to say Let’s never end
Amen! I wonder if this describes any and all long term relationships- the seasons of love so to speak..
Perfect!
Thank you, Ginger! I haven’t really been writing a lot of poetry or anything lately, so I thought I’d write one.
It probably does describe a lot. ‘It’s not perfect, but I’m keeping it!’
Your romance knows no bounds.
It doesn’t? Hmmmm, lol
the best kind of love – lasting through the flash to the slow steady burn.. perfect!
