English: Waves lap at the rock The swell of the outgoing tide washes off the bare rock. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
Storm In Your Eyes
The rock just sits there
Watching the tide come and go
The rock asks the waves to stay
But then just sits and doesn’t budge
The waves swirl and wait awhile
Until the tide carries the waves away
Again
But the tide, being the tide
Comes back in again
As it has always done
The two crash together forever
Until the rock is worn down
And they become beach and waves
Forever touching
Part of the same crashing sounds
Instead of the violence
Of waves upon rock
It is the calm
Of the rhythmic sounds and motions
The voice of the wave crashing upon rocks
A cacophony of a passionate joyful life
And the whisper of the tide on sand
A lullaby
for the sleepy lovers on the shore
The storm that sometimes rages
Send the couple to shelter
Weathering it together
Until calm tides are restored
Cold rain from the storm
Soak them to the bone
But they find warmth in the comfort
That where their arms are is home
While their gazes are lost
And the waves a constant symphony
The sun begins to shine
And all is right with the rock
With the waves and the tide
With the beach and the lovers
All a story told in your eyes

I watched this as the two of you created it, so effortlessly. Wow.. it’s beautiful! I’ve been waiting for something from the two of you to arise! I love the ‘storm’ metaphor.. it is something I too have used to describe what I’m feeling. ~ Jen
