Lyrical Anarchy

Poetic Justice!

Am I In It

Am I In It

Drive
Unsung but still singing
High strung
Ears ringing
Someone’s bee stinging
Undone
Am I in it am I in it am I in it
Goddamn I am

Too much pulling up sock
Not enough kicking off shoe
Too much straightening tie
Not enough swimming in pool
Too much deafening roar
Not enough silent scream
Too much staring at sky
Not enough living the dream
Am I in it am I in it am I in it
Goddamn I am

Cry
Shut up keeps coming
Why try
Stop running
Fly high
Look stunning
Stun gun
Am I in it am I in it am I in it
Goddamn I am

Not afraid of my fear
It hides beneath my bed
It murders me in my sleep
It remembers what I said
My word it always keeps
It slithers a sideways step
While I’m the fool who leaps
Into the foggy depths
Am I in it am I in it am I in it
Goddamn I am

Down below
Underneath it all
Like the water that puts out
The fires from the bridges I burned

When one door opens
Another closes
Everything closes up
Am I in it
Goddamn I am
